Top: Human (Piccinini)
The design of these stairs were based on the idea of humanity's free flowing nature, utilising minimal materials for the balustray to provide a balance between the freedom and safety a person would experience while travelling along the stairs. The idea of safety was also reinforced with the use of anodised aluminium metal for the staircase.
Bottom: Observing (Goodwin)
The design of these stairs was developed with the idea of providing a fairly open space while making people feel confined in their movements. Textured metal steel was used for the staircase to conform to the industrial nature of the studio design.
